Born in Bangkok, Thailand, Ummarid 'Tony' Eitharong came to the United States as a young man. Predominantly self taught, Eitharong began his career as an artist with large scale photorealistic pencil drawings. He then transitioned to mixed media and now paints abstracts with acrylic paint on canvas or watercolor paper. Eitharong is influenced by his surroundings, using color, shape, line and texture to create abstract compositions. His awards include Best of Show, Gasparilla 2019; first place, Coconut Grove 2019; first place, Winter Park 2019; and first place, Armonk (NY) 2019.
